What is this?
A browser simulation of the Nagel-Schreckenberg traffic model. Cars move on a ring road, and jams appear even without accidents, traffic lights or bottlenecks.
How it works
Every step applies acceleration, collision avoidance, random braking and movement. Changing density and randomness shows the transition from free flow to stop-and-go waves.
